SUPERVISION, MENTORSHIP & TRAINING

Practitioner Training and Mentorship

There comes a point in this work when knowing more is not quite the same as feeling steadier inside what you already know.

Sometimes you need another person in the room with the questions, the difficult cases, and the moments that stay with you. This is a place for that.

Sometimes one steady face is enough.

I once taught a room full of clinicians dressed as Mary Poppins. The event was the International Polyvagal Institute Summit, my first time after many years on a stage of that size, and I chose to teach the creative use of a sound program through a character who arrives with an umbrella and a carpet bag. Standing there at the start, I looked out and said, “Whew, there sure are a lot of you out there!”

My son sat in the front row. One familiar face, and my whole system dropped into place. Then I danced and we all blew bubbles from gifts I had passed out before the talk. Bubbles filled the space with connection and laughter, learning became easy and fun.

There is the teaching in miniature. Regulation travels between bodies. Whatever I know about the nervous system, I learn it again each time I need one steady face in a crowd.

You already know the loneliness of this work.

You hold a room while your own ground shifts under you. Some sessions end with a question you carry home, unsure whether you missed the moment. The stories stay with you, unrepeatable at any dinner table.

I offer supervision, mentorship, and training for practitioners working with Somatic Experiencing, the SSP/RRP sound programs, attachment, and therapeutic touch. Some come for licensure supervision. Some come with a case whose complexities seem overwhelming. Others come because the work asks more of them than their training gave them.

We attend to your nervous system as closely as your client's, since the two meet in every session.

I teach the map, and I teach the moment where the map runs out and presence takes over. I work with individuals and with small groups, in person and across time zones. Whole staffs bring me in as well, a treatment center or a school faculty wanting one shared language for what moves between people in a room. I go where it is wanted.

My son Will Rezin and I also teach attachment and somatics together, mother and son in front of the same room. The full description of that training, along with a conversation the two of us recorded, waits for you on its own page.
